Guymon Station 2
The Guymon Fire Department is located in central Texas County in the Oklahoma Panhandle and operates out of two stations. The department covers an area of 7 sq miles within the city with a large area in the county including mutual aid area. The department protects a population of over 12,000 with 24 paid personnel supported by 30 volunteers. The department averages 1500 calls a year.
Station 2 is located on the far southwest side of the city. Station 2 was built a few years ago when the location for the previous station 2 was purchased by a local gas station company. Another reason for the new location was to have a station on both sides of the train tracks that separate the town. Station 2 has a minimum staffing of one personnel, usually a paramedic, but can house a maximum of three and can be upstaffed when needed. Station 2 also houses the department's boat trailer and Region 1 EMS trailer.
