Langston Station 1
The Langston Fire Department is located in northeast Logan County and operates 7 apparatus out of one station comprised of two buildings. The department protects a summer population of 300, but with Langston University just across the street, the town's population can rise to almost 2,000 during the school year. The department covers an area of 12 sq miles, responds to approx. 300 calls a year, and currently has 16 volunteers.
Engine 6 - 1996 E-One, S.O. 14679 - 1500 Hale/500 Tank - Diesel/Auto - ex-Glendale, AZ
Originally painted white/yellow serving Glendale, Arizona (Shop #3320D20), Engine 6 currently serves as the departments primary engine but will fall to second out after Engine 7 is placed in service. A common theme in AZ, this trucks engine is actually in the rear of the truck!
Engine 7 - 1991 E-One, S.O. 8643 - 1500 Hale/1000 Tank - Diesel/Auto - ex-West Point Fire Company, Upper Gwynedd, PA, ex-Woodcrest, OK
Engine 7 is first out for all structure fires at the department. Engine 7 was purchased from nearby Woodcrest in 2023.
Tanker 5 - 2008 Freightliner/LFD - 200 CET/3000 Tank - Diesel/Auto
Tanker 5 was built by department members.
Heavy Brush 1 - 2001 Stewart-Stevenson/2019 G&L/LFD - 200 Hale/1500 Tank - Diesel/Auto
Heavy Brush 1 was built by G&L Construction and was outfitted by department members. This truck is equipped with a dump chute and can function as a tanker if needed.
Brush 2 - 2006 Ford F350/G&L/2020 LFD - 200 CET/300 Tank - Diesel/Auto
Brush 2 is the dedicated unit to respond with the Logan County Task Force.
Brush 3 - 2016 Ford F550/Chief - 200 Hale/300 Tank - Diesel/Auto
Brush 3 also operates as the departments rescue and responds to medical calls, as the department just recently obtained their EMRA license.
Brush 4 - 1998 Stewart-Stevenson/2022 LFD - 200 Hale/600 Tank - Diesel/Auto
Brush 4 was built by department members in 2022.
