Woodward Station 2

The Woodward Fire Department is located in central Woodward County and is the county seat. The department protects a population of 20,000 and covers an area of 1200 sq miles. The WFD is the only paid department in the county, and is auto-aided with surrounding volunteer departments to most fire calls in the county. The department responds to approx. 2000 calls a year and operates 7 man shifts working the 48/96 schedule supported by 15 current volunteers.

Station 2 is located on the city’s northwest side. Originally built to provide protection on the other side of the railroad tracks, this station has since been condemned due to mold. While the department is allowed to and still houses their hazmat and technical rescue trailer, along with a reserve engine, this station is not staffed. There are plans for a new Station 2 in the distant future.
