Boise City Station 1
The Boise City Fire Department is located in central Cimarron County and operates 10 apparatus out of one station. The department protects a population of 1100 and covers an area of 618 sq miles. The department responds to approx. 50 calls a year and currently has 18 volunteers.
Engine 14 - 2022 Freightliner/Toyne, Prod #13225 - 1250 Hale/1000 Tank - Diesel/Auto
Engine 14 is first out for all structure fires and accidents. Engine 14 is the first new pumper the department has purchased since the 1970 GMC/Bean. Engine 14 replaced a 1969 International pumper.
Engine 16 - 1970 GMC/Bean, Pump #153920 - 70 GPM HPF Bean/750 Tank - Gas/Manual
Acting mainly as a reserve pumper now, Engine 16 was purchased new by the county but has always been operated by Boise City.
Tanker 25 - 1981 AM General/? M967/2014 BCFD - 500 Gorman/5000 Tank - Diesel/Auto
This truck was experiencing brake issues on the day of my visit and could not be properly positioned.
Tanker 23 - 2007 OshKosh/2024 BCFD - 200 CET/3000 Tank - Diesel/Auto
The newest addition to the department, Tanker 23 was built in house. While the truck does squat quite a bit, the water weight it carries is well within the trucks capacity.
Unit 20 - 1990 AM General/2011 BCFD - 200 Barnes/1200 Tank - Diesel/Auto
Boise City operates two of these beasts. They are exactly identical except for color. Unit 21, out of service at the time of my visit, is orange to represent the school colors.
Unit 19 - 2008 Ford F350/BCFD - 100 IPT/300 Tank - Gas/Auto
Unit 19 was built in house. The cab and chassis was received through a large statewide grant.
Unit 24 - 2022 Ford F550/BCFD - 100 IPT/500 Tank - Diesel/Auto
Unit 24 is the first out brush pumper for the department. This truck was built completely in house.
Unit 22 - 1985 Chevy 3500/2008 BCFD - 100 IPT/300 Tank - Diesel/Auto
Unit 22 is usually last out for grass fires. The cab and chassis was received through forestry, hence the camo paint job.
