Deer Creek Station 1
The Deer Creek Fire Department is located in eastern Grant County and operates 7 apparatus out of one station. The department covers an area of 120 sq miles and protects a population of 100. The department responds to approx. 80 calls a year and currently has 18 volunteers.
Engine 51 - 1991 International/Grumman, ? - 1250 Waterous/750 Tank - Diesel/Auto - ex-Waterbury, VT
Engine 51 is first out for all structure fires at the DCFD. It originally served Waterbury, Vermont.
Tanker 58 - 1997 AM General/MFD - 200 Barnes/1500 Tank - Diesel/Auto - ex-Medford, OK
The newest overall addition to the department, Tanker 58 is the first out tanker for the department, but can also be used as a heavy brush pumper if needed. This truck originally served nearby Medford and is still labeled as such. Tanker 58 was purchased in early 2025.
Brush 53 - 2024 Ford F550/Emergency Fire Equipment, Serial #70786-01 - 200 Hale/500 Tank - Gas/Auto
The newest new addition to the department, Brush 53 is first out for all grass fires at the DCFD. This truck was built by Emergency Fire Equipment in Mayfield, KS.
Brush 55 - 2008 Ford F350/Blanchat B-3 Chaparral, Serial #070333 - 200 Hale/300 Tank - Gas/Auto
Brush 55 is second out for grass fires, which it has seen plenty of as you can see from the hazed over lenses on most of the lights.
Brush 56 - 1999 International/1951 Boardman, F-1067 - 200 Hale/1000 Tank - Diesel/Auto
While the chassis of Brush 56 is a 1999, the body is a 1951 built by Boardman from the original 1945 Deer Creek fire truck. That body has been customized and remounted a total of 4 times since then, and still serves the department well!
Brush 57 - 2009 Ford F350/Keeler - ? ?/500 Tank - Gas/Manual
Brush 57 is third out for grass fires. Brush 57 was moved to a small shed behind the main station with the arrival of Tanker 58.
Rescue 52 - 2012 Ford F350/DCFD - 200 Hale/350 Tank - Gas/Auto
Rescue 52 is first out for all rescue and EMS calls. The department built this truck in house and is equipped for both grass fires and rescue calls, including a full hydraulic extrication set. Rescue 52 is last out for grass fires.
