Felt Station 1
The Felt Fire Department is located in far southwest Cimarron County, just 4 miles from Texas and just over 12 miles from New Mexico, and operates 5 apparatus out of 1 station. The department protects a population of 100 and and covers an area of 208 sq miles. The department responds to approx. 15 calls a year and currently has 10 volunteers.
F41 - 1995 Ford F350/Chief - 200 Hale/300 Tank - Diesel/Manual - ex-Baker, OK
Purchased in early 2025, F41 originally served Baker, OK.
F42 - 2001 Stewart-Stevenson/2020 Wildfire - 200 Hale/600 Tank - Diesel/Auto - ex-Pecan Plantation, TX
Purchased in late 2024, F42 originally served in Pecan Plantation, TX.
F45 - 2003 Ford F350/Chief - 200 Hale/300 Chief - Gas/Auto
F45 was purchased new and is usually first out for calls.
F49 - 2008 Sterling/United - 500 Berkeley/4000 Tank - Diesel/Auto
F49 is the departments only purpose built tanker and can pump and roll and also has front nozzles for fire attack if needed.
F50 - 1970 AM General/FFD - 500 ?/1200 Tank - Diesel/Manual
Once one of many 2 1/2 and 5-ton rigs the department operated, F50 is the last of the original FFD fleet and is last out for most calls.
