Sooner Station 1
The Sooner Fire Department is located in south-central Logan County and operates nine apparatus out of one station. The department covers an area of 17 sq miles and protects a population of 3000. The department responds to approx 200 calls a year and currently has 18 volunteers. The department also operates volunteer shifts comprised of one shift officer and up to 5 volunteers Mon-Fri 1800-2300 in house and on call 2300-0600.
Engine 1 - 2000 Spartan/Quality, Prod. #M-1383 - 1250 Waterous/750 Tank - Diesel/Auto - ex-Arlington, TX
Originally serving Arlington, Tx, Engine 1 responds to all structural mutual aid requests. Making its broadway debut this summer, Engine 1 was featured in the blockbuster film "Twisters" and can be seen in the background of some of the post-tornado shots.
Engine 2 - 1997 E-One, S.O. 16925 - 1250 Hale/750 Tank - Diesel/Auto - ex-Edmond, OK, ex-Woodcrest, OK
Originally serving Edmond and Woodcrest, the WFD purchased this engine earlier this year as their other pumper was experiencing pump problems. That's no issue for this nearly 30 year old rig, as it pumped almost 1400gpm on its most recent pump test!

Brush Pumper 1 - 2013 Ram 3500/SFD - 200 Hale/300 Tank - Gas/Auto
Brush Pumper 1 suffered severe damage during the Simpson Fire in 2023 when debris in the engine bay caused a fire. A passerby with a water tank along with the trucks crew managed to extinguish the fire and after engine repairs the truck was placed back in service. The hood still sports damage from the heat sustained from the fire.
